Successful Minds Parenting Skills

Set up your child for success - Mind training with a difference

Being a parent can be one of the toughest jobs in the world. No matter how much you love your child, there will undoubtedly be times when they test you, frustrate you and leave you at a loss as to how to help them. But what if you could understand more about what goes on inside your son or daughter's mind?

Successful Minds can help you to get to know your child better, to communicate more effectively and to raise awareness of language that will influence, persuade and embed confidence. It will demonstrate ways to emotionally support your child, so that you can remain calm, while motivating and growing their self-esteem. It will help you to set ‘SMARTER’ goals, achieving positive outcomes and becoming a happier, calmer, more confident parent.

The unconscious mind learns fast and records everything

Language to support success

It's never too early to start using ‘mind training’ parenting skills with children - in fact the sooner the better.

What a lot of parents do not realise is, the unconscious mind learns fast and records everything. Even when you think you are not paying attention, or simply glance at something momentarily, it is still recorded unconsciously.

Everything you say to your child can act as a suggestion to the unconscious mind. This means the way you phrase things has a big impact on the type of personality and belief system your child develops.

Positively impact your child's mental health, learning and confidence

Smart parenting

Specifically designed for parents and care givers, this one-day program or 1-to-1 course offers exciting opportunities to learn the skills and strategies that will help you; improve your child's mental health, learning, confidence, behaviour and ultimately increase success across all areas.

Whether your child learns rapidly or has a specific learning difficulty, if you want to help increase their chances of success, this program is for you.

You will learn:

The effects of stress and anxiety on learning, behaviour and thinking. Including how to recognise stress triggers, minimise its effects and manage emotions. How to grow a calm, positive learning environment at home and use powerful visualisation techniques for calming the mind and body.

Stress hinders learning and causes mental health problems

Stress can inhibit learning and cause mental health problems

Teenagers today face a host of pressures ranging from going through puberty to questions of identity about: who they are, where and how they fit in.

The natural transition from child to adult can also bring parental conflict, as teens start to assert their independence. As a consequence, it isn’t always easy to differentiate between significant mental health problems, such as depression and normal teenage moodiness.

Further complicating matters, teens with depression do not necessarily appear sad, nor do they always withdraw from others. For some depressed teens, symptoms of irritability, aggression, and rage are more prominent. Powerful stress hormones are clinically proven to hinder memory, concentration and focus, as well as cause many mental health problems. Learning how to recognise your child’s stress triggers and help them to control its effects, can increase learning and help avoid more serious mental health problems down the line.

Josephine Lane, Head of Sixth Form at Woldingham School says

"As part of our Thrive Week, we were pleased to host a Mind Training workshop led by Penny Johnson from the Seraphina Mind Studio, for 80 of our 6th form girls. The girls learned some invaluable information and cutting edge techniques, to elicit positive states of mind and manage stress, as well as how to get into the optimal learning state. I particularly enjoyed the mind relaxation techniques at the end, which left me feeling calm and relaxed for the day ahead. This is very much aligned to our ethos here at Woldenham School, so I/we whole- heartedly support the benefits of Mind Training with Seraphina Mind Studio for positive mental health and learning. “

Are You Struggling to Concentrate?

Turning negative minds into successful minds.

Here at the Seraphina Mind Studio we have seen significant increases in the numbers of students and teachers referred for a broad range of stress and anxiety related problems. From poor concentration, focus, negative self-image, IBS, depression, OCD, eating disorders, stammering to self-harm and panic, the list is growing.

Stress and anxiety hormones are clinically proven to disable cognitive functioning, distorting feeling and emotions. Many of these problems could easily be minimised and even avoided with the correct mind training and knowledge.

Our Successful Minds Program has proved to be an invaluable tool set; many parents and teachers have been amazed at the positive changes they have experienced in themselves, their students and children. During exams some of the most negative, low-grade students became high achievers, attaining grades above their predicted expectations. They sailed through their exams calmly and confidently.
